Cape Flattery Silica Mines is a world class producer of silica sand and a wholly owned by Mitsubishi Corporation. Founded in 1967 the mine was purchased by Mitsubishi in 1977 and in 1987 a deep water jetty was brought into operation. Cape Flattery Silica Mines employs over 80 people.
