Formation of Advisory Group for International Taxation & Transfer Pricing Order Issued On 22-3-2012

In order to reduce tax litigation and bring tax certainty in the area of international taxation and transfer pricing, an ‘Advisory Group for International Taxation and Transfer Pricing’ has been set up comprising of following members:-

  1. Revenue Secretary to the Government of India-Head of the Advisory Group
  2. Chairman, Central Board of Direct Taxes, Department of Revenue-Member
  3. Director General of Income-tax (International Taxation), New Delhi – Member
  4. Joint Secretary (FT&TR-I), Department of Revenue-Member Secretary
  5. Joint Secretary (FT&TR-II), Department of Revenue-Member
  6. Joint Secretary (TPL-I), Department of Revenue, Member
  7. One representative of CII-Member
  8. One representative of FICCI-Member
  9. One representative of Assocham-Member
  10. . One representative of ICAI-Member
  11. One tax advisor of repute to be nominated by Revenue Secretary
  12. Any other person that the committee may wish to invite

Terms of Reference

The advisory group can have consultation on emerging issues of taxation in the area of international taxation and transfer pricing to understand each other’s view points and also with a purpose to reduce litigation and bring in more tax certainty. The groups can also advice the government about legislative amendments & administrative measures which can help reduce litigation and bring in more tax certainty.
