Latest Update: Now Income Tax Assessee can change the Bank Details of Income Tax Refund Cheque through his online Income Tax India efiling Account. For Changes in Income Tax Refund Cheque he must be ready with
1) Intimation order u/s 143(1) by Income Tax Department
2) Refund Sequence Number
3) PAN Card Details
4) New Bank Account Details like Account No, IFSC Code and MICR Code
For any change in cheque details in already issued cheque by the Income tax department assessee has to file the request in the given format with the signed cancelled cheque of the bank account for which new refund cheque is required. Below request for refund reissue is to be made to Centralized processing center, Post box no.2, electronic city post office, Bangalore-560100.

Enclose the following for proof
Kindly enclose an “ORIGINAL, SIGNED AND CANCELLED CHEQUE LEAF” along with the response sheet. Please ensure that the CHEQUES ARE ONLY CENCELLED by writing “Cancelled” across the face of the cheque leaf before sending it. The department will not be liable to any damage arising out of un-cancelled cheques. Xerox copies of cheque leaf will not be accepted.
